BIOGRAPHY

Born in Singapore, living in London since 1983. Enjoys a diverse career, influenced strongly by a cosmopolitan outlook on life and an early education embracing multiple religions, languages, cultures and interests.

She has been a TV presenter, actor, dancer (classical ballet and oriental dance), lawyer with an international law firm, concert pianist, composer/arranger, director and writer, with numerous recordings, documentaries, short films, videos and concerts to her credit.

A ‘renaissance’ personality, Pamela has been at the forefront of every career she has chosen. As a child of eight, she began directing and writing for school plays and concerts , whilst broadcasting very week as the youngest member of the Radio Playhouse, a radio children’s programme. Also a phenomenally talented pianist, she launched a TV career in her teens. Appearing as a pianist/interviewee, she impressed the producer with her eloquence and screen personality, who promptly offered her to host a cultural series on national TV, for which she scripted, presented interviewed and performed the piano. Pamela went on to become the first bilingual MC (English and Mandarin) for state events and for national TV. As an actress, she moved from stage to the country’s first homegrown TV dramas, mixing her university and law career with artistic activities.

Moving to the UK, her mixed interests expanded to include performing with and promoting orchestras, groups and artistes (classical, rock and pop) , as well as music composition and production, which has included pop chart success and top selling recordings in many countries. Her debut as In a decade of intense motherhood when she concentrated on creating and managing her daughter’s international music career, she also produced a silent movie for Buena Vista Europe, and a TV documentary on “Mulan” (plus the endtitle track for the film) for Disney. Pamela has also written, directed and produced concerts held at Buckingham Palace, (excerpts are included in the official Buckingham Palace video), the Kremlin, and many of the world’s most famous concert venues. She is best known for writing versatile music and creating themed shows in many countries with diverse artistes - notably, a “live” travelling concert documentary at the Linbury Theatre by Simon Callow Madonna, Miranda Richardson, Les Folies, Vasko Vassilev, the Soloists of the Royal Opera House, among others. In 2003, she created a Royal Albert Hall show, for Andy Serkis, Kristanna Loken and Trudie Styler with special guests Joaquin Cortes, Mel Blatt, Zucchero, Alina Cojacaru, Rory Bremner, etc. Recently “Happy Valley” written in 1997 for the Reunification of HK to China, was selected for inclusion in the official 2004 Athens Olympics Commemorative Album.

Pamela has just completed a sell-out series of shows with World Classics, her new orchestral work featuring solo piano and violin. In June 2005, she appeared as Clara Schumann on the Royal Opera House stage in a unique staged ‘reading’ by Sting and Sir Ian McKellen. Pamela is writing a new ‘music fiction’ show by the Concertmasters of the Royal Opera House, London, and the Royal Opera House. Her works will go on tour in the UK, Spain and the Far East in 2006/2007.

Pamela has started work on her first opera, Monkey King, a multi-media cross-cultural work to be premiered at the Royal Opera House.
